How about referring Betty to a vascular service in the first instance for a full venous duplex vein mapping scan and instead just managing the symptom treat the underlying cause with procedure that are available but not widely known about. The service should be driven with he woman and baby at the centre and everyone else Consultant or Cleaner as working as a team surrounding the woman and baby.
